key text 4-character key
size integer Reported size of data in bytes
type text SMC-reported type literal type
value text A type-encoded representation of the key value

See if the temperature sensor on an Intel Mac is returning values. SMC values aren't officially documented and as such this table is useful if you are troubleshooting and digging into a specific hardware related issue.
